An excerpt from the dome sensory installation at the ‘Songlines, Tracking the Seven Sisters’ exhibition, National Museum of Australia. The audience is invited to recline and be immersed in to the travels and story of the Seven Sisters. Painting, sculpture, song and landscape come to life in this digital experience to surround and immerse the viewer as if projected on to the arch dome of a cave or sacred sanctuary and in to the constellations. #australianindigenousart

One of our favorites on view in NYUYUNTJAKU @harveyartprojects Pepai Jangala Carroll's piece 'Ininti '. Pepai's father comes from sand-dune country near Kintore in the Northern Territory. His father's homeland is a special place called Ininti. Pepai returned to this place recently on a trip back to his father's country. He visited this homeland with Curator of Aboriginal Art at the Museum and Art Gallery of the Northern Territory, Luke Scholes. Luke wrote about the experience: "We visited Ininti where now there lies an abandoned outstation... On arriving Pepai felt a rush of memory and spoke of his family travelling and living in this Country prior to contact. A small overgrown depression marked the source of water at Ininti. Keen to test the reliability of its water, the vicinity of the soakage was cleared and a deep hole was dug. As the ground beneath our feet was inevitably though slowly covered in water, this gentle man of the desert began to smile with quiet joy."⠀ ⠀ Pepai Jangala Carroll I Ininti 2017 | 420h x 265Ø Stoneware | POA ⠀ ⠀ #australianindigenousart
