She may be little but she is fierce. Can’t stop giggling at Lucy. She saw a girl probably 3 years older than her throw her ice cream wrapper on the ground. Lucy was straight over before I could stop her yelling “OI! OI!!! Did YOU just drop that wrapper?”. The girl said “yeah - so what?!” To which she answered “that’s going to get in the ocean and kill the dolphins. Do you not care about killing dolphins?!” (This is not how I talk by the way when explaining things to her!). He little girl said that we were no where near the ocean which made Lucy turn around to the lake behind her and yell “IT’LL GET THERE THROUGH THE WATERWAYS!!!!!!!!”. 😆 I reckon it’s true that our quirks are our strengths... and she is certainly not afraid to use her voice. 📣🐬 Go Lucy!

When I think about the home and going zero waste (or minimalism or whatever you want to call it) it’s important to remember that it isn’t about stark white rooms and having no possessions - unless that’s your thing, of course. It’s about putting meaning back into your belongings, choosing to source them ethically and being mindful about what you consume. It’s basically the opposite to those 24-hour hollabalooza renovation shows - it’s about taking things slower 🐌. This corner of my house for example; secondhand treasures, kerbside finds, handmade Knick knacks and vintage store scores. Cards with beautiful words written in them turned into art prints. Champagne cork wire bent into words (Emily ❤️ Mark - from our first bottle of champagne together). 📚 Old worn books that were about to be thrown out but whose covers reminded me of something from Harry Potter. Books from my childhood. George Harrison vinyls, my grandpas owl. Old teatowels haphazardly hung in an op shop frame. I still can’t believe that I found that book shelf just dumped on a pile of rubbish on the side of the road. I hate that it happened but I love that it has a story; I often laugh at the memory of me, 8.5months pregnant and my dad trying to hoist it onto his car roof!🤰🏼🤷🏻♂️🚙🤣 My house is not a poster child for minimalism - but it is minimalist. It’s minimalism my way. I love everything I own, it all has a place or a use and it’s carefully curated clutter that makes my heart sing. How it should be I say. You can love stuff and be minimalist. You can be a collector and a zero waster. You can be sentimental and not be overwhelmed by stuff. You can do it your way. If you’ve got a little corner like this in your house I’d love to see! Take a photo and tag me in it. Tell me a story about something! 🎞

HAPPY FRIDAY // Can’t believe it’s already Friday and next Monday, kids are off to school! . @heveababy rubber duck is made from natural rubber which comes from rubber trees. Natural rubber is biodegradable and it only takes less than a decade whereas a plastic products takes 500-1000 years!! . When you buy something for your mini, choose something that’s good for environment. We need to protect our planet. Let our children and their children and their children (and many more!) enjoy the beautiful rainforest, the ocean, furry friends and other precious things we have here now xx . 📷 . @heveababy
