✖️How To Lose Belly Fat✖️ . This is probably the no. 1 reason for women (me including☝🏽) to start going to the gym. Problem is: you can't spot reduce fat. What that means is that you can't choose where you'll lose fat first, your body/genes pretty much decide that for ya🤷🏻‍♀️ . 3 things to remember if you want to lose fat: 1️⃣ You need to eat in a caloric deficit. That means you eat less than what your body needs to stay the same. Start tracking everything you normally eat for about 1 week (don't make any changes yet). Then subtract about 400-500 calories from that. This is a simplified version, but you will start seeing results. 2️⃣If you don't already, start using weights at the gym! Try doing 2-3 weight sessions per week. 3️⃣Add in some cardio to increase the deficit. Now don't go totally crazy and spend hours on the treadmill! Keep things fun: go for a walk, play tennis, ride your bike..whatever is fun for you. 4️⃣ Remember: this isn't a quick fix (there is none btw). You don't need waist trainers, or skinny detox teas, or fatburner pills❗️ It took you months or years to gain that weight, so you're not going to lose it all in a week. Give yourself time and don't beat yourself up if you don't see results right away. Consistency is key🙏🏼 . Happy Thursday! . . #girlswholift

Here are some perks of lifting weights : 1️⃣improves bone density (helps to keep your bone healthy as you age you lose bone density) 2️⃣ increase the strength of your muscles, connective tissue and tendons reducing risk of injury and improving motor performance 3️⃣ aids with fat loss -training large muscle groups burns more calories and aids withe fat loss, cardio burns calories and fat when you're performing it and it does shrink you down, however, it reduces both your fat and muscle resulting in you being skinny and soft. High intensity strength training allows for Excess Post-Exercise Oxygen Consumption (EPOC) to occur = how long your metabolism is elevated after exercise, resulting in you burning fat long after finishing your workout.

Last week's special squats ☺ Special because they were my first session back in the gym after over a month out. 5x5 @ a measly 70kg 😂 - Have I lost strength during time off? Yerrrrp. Is that frustrating? Depends 🤷 yeah, I'd love to walk in and throw 90kg on my back like nothing's happened. And I could focus on that and be really pissed off that 70kg is actually feeling pretty heavs. And that'd make it frustrating AF. - Or. I could focus on the fact that actually, just being in the gym, squatting AT ALL feels fucking great 💃 And appreciating movement, coordination, ability, mindset - all the reasons I love training. - The 70kg is only frustrating if I compare it to where I was. And as much of a cliché as it is, 'don't look back, you're not going that way' 😎 plus, the fastest way to move forward is to celebrate the small wins and keep pushing. So on we go 💪🙌

The girls I nanny for are out of school today and the oldest did a little bit of of my workout with me. When I got to work I saw chocolate donuts on the counter. I wanted one so bad. But I decided to put in work instead! Felt amazing afterwards. I had Apple with peanut butter instead. It's almost the same.....😂👍🏼❤️🏋🏼 . . . . . . . #girlswholift
