HOW TO MAKE GINGER TEA Although ginger tea itself does not reach the vocal cords, there is quite a few reasons this tea is beneficial for the voice. A sore or irritated throat will ruin the sound of your voice, but the ginger, honey, and steam can help soothe inflammed throat tissues and loosen secretions. You can use fresh or dried ginger, but fresh ginger makes the tastiest tea. Sweeten it with honey, which also has antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory properties. Many people like to add lemon to ginger tea, though the acidic juice may not be good for an irritated throat. If you decide to add lemon, stick to a very small quantity. RECIPE * Boil 2 cups of filtered water in a saucepan. *Peel the ginger with a spoon. Grate the ginger with a box grater, or slice it thinly. You can also use 2 teaspoons of ginger powder in a pinch, though it will not be quite as tasty as fresh. *Add the ginger to the boiling water, and turn off the heat. Cover the pot with a lid, and allow it to steep for 10 minutes. *Strain the tea through a strainer, and discard the solids. *Add a tablespoon or two of honey to sweeten the tea and it's ready! IMPORTANT PRECAUTIONS Ginger promotes digestion which aids metabolism, and this results to increased calorie burning. Whether ginger burns fat in a person depends on many factors, like diet, exercise and percentage of body fat. It is also a natural appetite suppressant and it has very little calorie, meaning food gets digested fast and you won't feel hungry so for slim people, the quantity taken should be very minimal and not consecutive and it should not be taken with lime because that is 'double action' as lime too burns fat. Also, notice that it was mentioned in the previous note that Ginger is ONE of the home remedies for the voice so there are others that would be discussed later, therefore if ginger doesn't work for you, you will get at least one that will.
