I’m excellent at not switching off, but these last two weeks away with my partner I promised myself that work would not intrude on our travels and our time together. I regret nothing and we’ve had so much fun exploring Japan together. Happy birthday @nickferrierfitness, here’s to more to come 🎂 #happybirthday #travel
I’m so pleased to see the Silence Breakers named as the Time people of the year 2017. The momentum we’re seeing now is the product of decades of hard work and difficult advocacy but 2017 has seen some significant progress calling out men who have been preying on women for far too long. This movement has been powerful, and game changing and it’s great to see men coming forward to discuss their experience too. Thank you too to all of the unnamed people who’ve been working hard to call out sexual inappropriacies, and those who are not yet able or ready to come forward. There are many, many more people of all genders who have yet to tell their story and while there’s a way to go, we are working towards a space where stories can be shared and respected and perpetrators can be held to account. #metoo #thankyou Now can someone please explain why Donald Trump was awarded runner up?
A few months ago, Caitlin came to me with an idea - pay it forward self defence classes. For every purchased place in the class, a place would be created for a victim of domestic or gender based violence. Today in partnership with UN Women, the first classes took place and i couldn’t be prouder! A huge thank you to the amazing team who helped make this possible, I’m gutted I couldn’t be there. This is just the beginning - follow @jasiriorg for more updates! @caitlinfigueiredo @briannathefox @christinasiyunlu @clareries @_megmuffins_ @asha.clementi #fearless #fightlikeagirl #strong #fierce
Today, Australia made marriage equality a reality and in doing so not only recognized the love that exists in same sex relationships, but brought us closer to a more equal Australia. While I’m thrilled we made it, this has been a really tough time for many, particularly members of the LGBTQIA community. It’s disappointing that they’ve had to suffer through a humiliating national vote on whether they deserve one of their basic human rights, and disappointing to see the percentage of people who came back and said no for whatever reason. Please know that you are loved and you are valued. There are many people out there who have fought and will continue to fight for you - me among them - and we will not stop fighting until you are truly equal. This is not the end. We’re one step closer, now on to the next one 🌈 #marriageequality #loveislove #australia
